Sally Nugent has returned to BBC Breakfast after a brief absence last week. The presenter, who usually hosts the show Monday to Wednesday alongside Jon Kay, was back in the studio on Monday as tributes poured in for the late Dr Michael Mosley.
The One Show star and medical expert died aged 67 while on holiday on the Greek island of Symi. His body was discovered on a remote hillside after a four-day search. He had gone missing while walking in extreme heat without his phone.
During the programme, Nugent and Kay paid tribute to Mosley, including a segment with media correspondent David Sillito reflecting on his legacy. Mosley was described as "a trusted, charismatic guru of good health" and his weight loss using intermittent fasting inspired thousands.
Nugent confirmed tributes had been "pouring in" from stars including Angela Rippon, Jamie Oliver and Brian Cox. The show also interviewed Mosley's friend and colleague Dr Saleyha Ahsan, who called him a "legend" and a "mentor and a friend".
Mosley's wife, Dr Clare Bailey Mosley, previously paid tribute to her "wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant" husband, saying: "We had an incredibly lucky life together."
