Spanish outlet Marca has reported that Rashford remains fully determined to rejoin Barcelona for next season, despite the club deciding against signing him permanently. The England international is said to have been given encouragement by manager Hansi Flick that another move could be brokered.

Rashford believes he can still engineer a fresh switch to Barcelona, whether that comes in the form of another loan or with a new transfer fee negotiated with United. Carrick has previously addressed the possibility of Rashford rejoining the United first-team fold, stopping short of dismissing the notion outright. "I just think there's decisions to be made in time on certain things and obviously Marcus is in that situation," Carrick said back in April. "But at this point in time, nothing's been decided. And it will be, because it has to be at a certain point. But at this stage, there's nothing to say."
