Prince Harry faces fresh nightmare as new film may include Meghan row
New film may include Meghan row, Prince Harry nightmare

A new royal film, reportedly in the works, may include a row between Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle involving the late Queen's former dresser Angela Kelly. The 42-year-old Duke of Sussex detailed the dispute in his 2023 book Spare, blaming Angela for delaying Meghan's access to a tiara before her wedding hair trial.

Angela Kelly's reported role in the film

It has been reported, but not confirmed, that Angela could feature in the new film, which has a working title of Trouble. Angela's career as a dresser culminated in her becoming the late Queen's Personal Assistant and the official Curator of her wardrobe.

Speaking on the latest episode of Palace Confidential, The Daily Mail's diary editor Richard Eden described Angela as a "fascinating figure". He said: "The Queen described her as like a sister... but she was also very combative. She had the nickname among some courtiers of AK-47. AK for Angela Kelly, but a bit like the submachine gun."

Reaction from royal experts

Eden added: "After the Queen died, she was moved out of her grace and favour home very quickly. It was said she wasn't very happy about this. There are whispers that it's going to be a very accurate portrayal. It's a big deal... you might remember she had some really lively rows with Harry and Meghan, and Harry is particularly unpleasant about her in his book [Spare]."

The Mail on Sunday Editor at Large Charlotte Griffiths, also on the show, said Harry should be "quaking in his boots" over the news. "Speaking of Spare, the stuff Angela saw during Tiaragate," she said, "Apparently, there's another incident from around that time that they are praying does not come out in this drama."

According to royal editor Rebecca English, some members of the Royal household "resented" how much influence Angela had over the late Queen. Angela was also "hurt" at how quickly she was dismissed after the Queen's death in 2022.
