The Bombardment, also known as The Shadow in My Eye, is a 2021 Danish war drama that tells the true story of Operation Carthage. On March 21, 1945, a British Royal Air Force raid accidentally bombed the French-Danish Jeanne d'Arc School in Copenhagen, killing 123 civilians, including 87 schoolchildren.
Written and directed by Ole Bornedal, the film has a perfect 100% critics' approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, alongside a 90% audience score. One critic described it as 'haunting and visceral', while another said it is 'an important story and unapologetic portrayal of the brutality of war'.
