Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have suffered another setback as their latest film, Cookie Queens, was outperformed at the US box office by a compilation of skateboarding cats and internet cat videos.
Cookie Queens, an Archewell-produced documentary about American Girl Scouts selling cookies, grossed less than £250,000 from 446 cinemas and failed to crack the Top 10.
Industry Reaction
Industry sources described the return as “pretty pitiful”, with each screening averaging around £500. In contrast, CatVideoFest 2026 earned roughly £420,000 and secured tenth place, despite playing in 191 fewer cinemas, according to The Times.
Hollywood Ambitions Dented
Mixed reviews and limited promotion since its Sundance premiere have left the Sussexes’ Hollywood ambitions looking distinctly dented. The distributor claimed solid interest from Girl Scouts past and present, but the numbers paint a less flattering picture.
