A new Apple TV series, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, is being hailed as one of the best new shows of 2026. The dark comedy, created by David J Rosen, premiered on Wednesday with two gripping episodes that have already hooked viewers.
The series stars Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk) and Jake Johnson (New Girl). Maslany plays Paula, a professional fact checker and divorced mother who witnesses a bizarre crime and becomes entangled in a web of murder and blackmail. The Guardian called it a “totally bingeable thriller” in a four-star review.
Critics have compared the show to Disney+ and Hulu’s hit crime-comedy High Potential due to its morbid humour, off-kilter tone, and unexpected twists. The Ankler’s Christopher Rosen declared it “the best new series I’ve watched this year,” praising Maslany’s performance and the show’s twisty, surprising nature.
The supporting cast includes Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus) and Jessy Hodges (Barry). Episodes release weekly on Wednesdays on Apple TV+.
