Netflix has officially renewed its popular reality dating series Love Is Blind for an eleventh season, the streaming giant announced on Wednesday. The show, which has captivated audiences since its debut in 2020, will see real-life married couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey return as hosts.
Season 11 Announcement
The Lacheys shared the news via a joint Instagram post, captioning it: 'No one brings the tea like Boston! Season 11 Love Is Blind coming this Fall! ♥️.' The new season will be set in Boston, Massachusetts, marking the first time the show has filmed in the historic New England city.
Show Format
Love Is Blind tests the theory that love transcends physical appearance. Singles date in isolated 'pods' where they can hear but not see each other until they decide to get engaged. After engagement, couples go on a group vacation to explore physical chemistry, then move in together, plan their wedding, and ultimately decide at the altar whether to marry.
Previous Seasons
Past seasons have taken place in various US cities, including Minneapolis, Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Charlotte, Denver, Seattle, and most recently Columbus, Ohio. The show's success in the US led to international spin-offs in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, the UK, and Mexico.
Season 10 Highlights
Season 10, set in Ohio, concluded with a dramatic reunion in March. Viewers witnessed the emotional breakup between Chris Fusco and Jess Barrett, sparked by Fusco's comment that he 'usually' dates someone who 'does Pilates every day.' The remark earned him widespread criticism online, with many labelling him a 'red flag.' At the reunion, Fusco apologised, saying, 'I'm sorry for the way I treated you, Jess. And I'm sorry I couldn't be there emotionally... what you needed.'
Another couple, Brittany Wicker and Devonta 'Devo' Anderson, struggled over differing needs for physical affection and personal space. Meanwhile, Mike Gibney and Emma Betsinger could not resolve Betsinger's hesitation about having children.
Other Netflix Renewals
In addition to Love Is Blind, Netflix announced that The Lincoln Lawyer will end after its fifth season. The legal drama, based on Michael Connelly's books, stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as attorney Mickey Haller, alongside Becki Newton, Angus Sampson, and Jazz Raycole. New cast members for the final season include Amy Aquino, Angela Trimbur, Elpidia Carillo, Nate Corddry, Tricia Helfer, and Keir O'Donnell.
The sports comedy Running Point, starring Kate Hudson, has also been renewed for a third season, according to Variety. The series features Justin Theroux, Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Brenda Song, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Toby Sandeman, Uche Agada, and Jay Ellis.
