Kristen Bell shares behind-the-scenes look at Frozen 3

Kristen Bell has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Frozen 3, sharing photos on Instagram of her arrival at Disney Animation Studios in California with her dog Frank.

The 46-year-old actress, who voices Anna in the first two Frozen films, is reprising her role in the upcoming third movie. Her post showed her walking into the studio building and Frank posing in front of Frozen animation drawings of Anna and Idina Menzel's Elsa.

Caption and cast

Bell captioned the post: “Accompanied by my temporary admin assistant.” The film will also see Menzel, 55, reprise her role as Elsa, alongside Josh Gad, who voices the snowman Olaf.

In February, Gad shared his own post from inside Disney's studios, posing with directors Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy and producer Christina Chen. He captioned the photo: “3rd time is always the charm. Time to build another snowman.”

Plot and release date

While plot details for the third film are yet to be revealed, Gad said in June on Good Morning America that the upcoming release was the “funniest of the three movies I’ve ever recorded.” He added: “There’s some unbelievable stuff, unbelievable developments.”

The original Frozen, released in 2013, made nearly 1.3 billion dollars (£900 million) at the global box office and generated a large merchandising revenue stream. It won Academy Awards for best animated feature and best original song with Let It Go, as well as a Golden Globe, a Bafta, and two Grammys.

Frozen 2, released in 2019, followed the characters as they sought the origin of Elsa's powers. In November 2023, then-Disney chief executive Bob Iger confirmed that Frozen 4 was also in the works. Frozen 3 is set for release in cinemas on November 24 2027.
