Jorja Smith will headline the O2 in London for the first time on Saturday, July 17, 2027, as part of the venue's 20th birthday celebrations. The 29-year-old singer will perform in front of 20,000 people, with the show marking her only UK arena performance of 2027, according to the O2.
Line-up and Venue Milestones
The birthday celebrations will feature four headline acts across four dates in May, June, and July. Maisie Peters will headline on Saturday, May 18, Shreya Ghoshal will perform on Friday, June 4, and Don Omar will take the stage on Monday, July 5.
Since opening in 2007, the O2 has hosted more than 3,000 shows and welcomed over 100 million visitors.
Artist and Venue Reactions
Smith said: "Performing at The O2 as part of its 20th birthday celebrations is a huge honour. It's a venue that has hosted so many incredible artists and unforgettable moments over the years, so to be part of this milestone feels really special. I'm excited to celebrate with you all."
Christian D'Acuna, vice president of programming at The O2, commented: "We are so pleased to welcome Jorja Smith, for what will be her only UK arena performance of 2027, to our ever-growing 20th birthday line-up. The show will be Jorja's first-ever headline performance at the venue, making it a special moment both for us at The O2 and for her fans."
Recent Album and Career Reflections
In a new interview with The Standard ahead of her headline show at All Points East on Friday, August 21, the Blue Lights singer said she has been "on a high" since announcing her latest album, What Are The Odds. "You know, someone might listen to this and be like, 'Oh, where's the ballad? I want a ballad.' Just bear with me," she said. "With this project I had this really excited, fun feeling… just this energy, and it literally is still there. It's been ever since that first studio session. I've been like on a high. It's like the sun has been shining constantly in me."
She also spoke about the impact fame had on her life, after she quickly rose to fame in 2017 with her debut single Blue Lights. That same year, she featured on tracks by Drake and Kali Uchis, and released another single, On My Mind, with grime artist Preditah. But in 2023, she decided to take a step back from the spotlight after being subjected to cruel abuse online about her appearance. "I had been doing a lot [of being visible] in that period and I needed to step back," she said. "I was finding this whole 'being Jorja Smith' thing a bit difficult."
