Joe Swash's TV cookery show, Batch from Scratch: Cooking For Less, has reportedly been scrapped by Channel 4 after just two seasons. The show aired in March 2025 and March 2026 for two seasons and featured Joe and 'The Batch Lady' Suzanne Mulholland as they 'dished out a proper helping of time-saving tips and easy-to-follow recipes'.
Reports of the show's cancellation
However, reports have suggested that the show has been scrapped, and Joe is currently trying to 'reimagine' what his career path should look like.
“The move from EastEnders actor to cheeky-chappy presenter to family chef didn’t happen as seamlessly as bosses had hoped," a source told The Sun. "The chemistry between him and Suzanne on screen was non-existent and he just isn’t an authority on food."
They added that it was particularly difficult as the presenter is married to Stacey, who has a number of hugely successful shows under her belt. “It’s tough as everything his wife Stacey touches turns to gold and Joe is constantly playing catch up. He is now trying to reimagine what his career will look like."
Joe Swash's other projects
In 2025, Joe has appeared on documentaries including Joe Swash: Britain’s Young Dads and Meal Deals: Behind the Bargain.
Stacey has fronted TV series including the BBC One reality series Sort Your Life Out, for which she won a National Television Award and has hosted since 2021. The show has actually recently been picked up for its seventh and eighth seasons. In July it was reported that filming has begun and a release date for the seventh instalment of the show has been earmarked for spring 2027. Apparently producers are so sure it’ll be another hit they’ve already began work on season eight - And it's all down to Stacey's audience appeal.
“Stacey doesn’t just get big viewing figures, with her massive online presence she also draws in the very important younger market for the Beeb. Which is why she is now having to juggle so many projects because she also has another series of Stacey and Joe out later this year," a source told The Sun.
Stacey Solomon's recent success
In 2024 she hosted Stacey Solomon's Renovation Rescue, she also appeared as a guest judge on Britain's Got Talent this year - so by all accounts its been a busy time for Stacey.
The married couple teamed up in April 2025, as they invited the BBC’s cameras into their £1.2 million Essex home, Pickle Cottage, for the first series of Stacey & Joe. The show was an enormous success, attracting some 4.2 million viewers for its premiere episode and in April, Stacey and her husband, confirmed a third series of the show.
