Hugh Grant's psychological horror film 'Heretic' has stormed into the Top 10 film chart on streaming service NOW, currently sitting at No 8. The movie, from the creators of 'A Quiet Place', has been hailed as one of the best and most thought-provoking films of the last few years.
A new turn for Hugh Grant
Grant continues his post-rom-com renaissance, following roles in 'Paddington 2' and 'The Gentlemen', with this low-budget psychological thriller. He stars as Mr Reed, a religiously curious older man who invites two young Mormon missionary girls into his home, claiming his wife is in the kitchen baking a blueberry pie.
A terrifying game of faith
What begins as a thoroughly engaging theological discussion soon turns into a house of horrors, as Sisters Barnes and Paxton's deepest beliefs are challenged in a terrifying game of faith. The film features a reverse home-invasion plot similar to 'Speak No Evil', another excellent horror of 2024.
