Holly Willoughby feared pooping herself live on TV over raw chicken

Holly Willoughby has revealed she once feared she would soil herself live on television after eating undercooked chicken during a cooking segment on This Morning.

The 45-year-old recalled the incident in the latest video on her YouTube channel, Holly Willoughby Together, while discussing whether she had ever tasted "dodgy chicken" during a live broadcast. She replied: "It definitely happened."

Raw chicken served on live TV

Willoughby described the moment when a guest chef flipped over a chicken dish to reveal it was still raw. "Very, very, rarely did that happen, but I remember there was one time and we were up against the clock and I actually genuinely can't remember who it was, but somebody was cooking chicken and as they served it on the plate and they flipped it over, I saw that it's raw."

She continued: "I was just like: 'Oh god what do I do?' And I just ate it, I thought I just have to, there's nothing you can do."

Fortunately, the segment was the last item of the show, which eased her worry. "Thankfully it was the last item of the show because I just thought: 'If this is the beginning of the show, am I going to s*** myself live on telly?' [It was] a bit touch and go but, thankfully, it was the last item, but yeah I just kind of had to [eat it]."

Food poisoning from air fryer chicken

Willoughby also admitted to giving her children food poisoning from undercooked food. She explained: "I've given my kids food poisoning from uncooked stuff, yeah. Do you know what it was? It was when air fryers first came out and they were like: 'Oh, you can cook a chicken in like 10 minutes' and you can't. So, I definitely did to begin with, so I'm always quite wary of that."

Wardrobe mishap on Ministry of Mayhem

In an earlier episode of her show, Willoughby recounted another embarrassing moment from 2004 while presenting ITV's Ministry of Mayhem. As she danced to the boyband Blue, her top came undone, leaving her "left boob swinging."

She asked producers if they had noticed the mishap, and said they replied: "'We're not going to lie to you. We did see it,' and then The Sun put me on Page 3 the next day. So I've been a Page 3 girl with my boob out!"
