Guy Ritchie's next crime thriller, Wife and Dog, will follow a wealthy aristocratic family's ruthless fight for power, with a cast that includes Happy Valley star James Norton, Silence of the Lambs actor Anthony Hopkins, Benedict Cumberbatch and Rosamund Pike.
The director has had a busy month, with two of his biggest shows, The Gentlemen on Netflix and Mobland on Paramount Plus, both returning for their second seasons. His next project, confirmed for the big screen, delves into the "cut-throat world of the British aristocracy," following the wealthy Fairbank family and their questionable decisions that lead to dangerous consequences.
Deadly battle for succession
The official synopsis teases: "Their ruthless ambition triggers a deadly battle for succession, inheritance and corporate control, leading to betrayal and murder."
Norton, known for Happy Valley and Grantchester, is among the household names attached to the project. On Tuesday, September 29, Sky also announced that Norton will host Saturday Night Live on October 11, following EastEnders icon Danny Dyer and before Wicked star Cynthia Erivo.
Release date and other projects
Wife and Dog is scheduled for release on February 19, 2027. Ritchie is also working on a 2028 project titled Viva La Madness, in which he is expected to appear on screen alongside Jason Statham, Vinnie Jones, Jason Isaacs and Camila Mendes.
The description for that project reads: "An unnamed protagonist lies low in the Caribbean, waiting for attention from his previous job to fade before heading back to London." Both Mobland and The Gentlemen have been renewed for third seasons.
