Fontaines DC 'leaked' for St James' Park gig in 2027

A reliable source has suggested that St James' Park in Newcastle is set to host a huge gig next year. The 'cathedral on the hill' has been the setting for fantastic concerts over the years, and while there hasn't been one this year, news has 'leaked' of a massive show for summer 2027.

Fontaines DC tipped for stadium show

The same source who broke news of Sam Fender potentially doing more outdoor shows next year has now claimed that St James' Park will be on a list of locations for a stadium tour from Irish rockers Fontaines DC in 2027. The band, who have won the International Group award at the Brits on numerous occasions and were on the Mercury shortlist in Newcastle last year, have previously played the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, as well as Exhibition Park.

Music insider Gavin Davis took to Instagram on Monday to post that both St James' and the Tottenham Stadium will be on a list of stadium dates for Fontaines next year, with the possibility of others being added too.

Fans react to the leak

Gavin has been accurate with other 'leaks' in the last year, including tours from Robbie Williams and The Script and the headliners for Radio 1's Big Weekend in Sunderland. It didn't take long for Fontaines DC fans to react to his post about their plans, with one, focusing on the potential for a SJP show, replying: 'So down for a St James’s show' as another wrote: 'St James would be insane.'
