Former cast members of the axed BBC One soap Doctors have reunited for a meal, nearly two years after the show came to an end.
Kia Pegg, who played receptionist Scarlett Kiernan, met up with former co-stars Dex Lee (Bear Sylvester), Dido Miles (Emma Reid) and Joanna Bending (Michelle Walton) for lunch. Pegg shared a photo of the group on Instagram, writing in the caption: 'A very very very good Sunday'.

Why the show was axed
In 2023, the BBC confirmed that Doctors had been cancelled. A statement released at the time said: 'We have taken the very difficult decision to bring daytime drama Doctors to an end after 23 years'.
The statement added: 'With super inflation in drama production, the cost of the programme has increased significantly, and further investment is also now required to refurbish the site where the show is made, or to relocate it to another home. With a flat licence-fee, the BBC's funding challenges mean we have to make tough choices in order to deliver greater value to audiences.'
The BBC also said: 'We remain fully committed to the West Midlands and all of the funding for Doctors will be reinvested into new programming in the region. We would like to thank all the Doctors cast and crew who have been involved in the show since 2000.'
Final episode and happy ending
The final episode of Doctors aired in November 2024. The last instalment saw the team at the Mill fight back after Graham Elton (Alex Avery), the troublesome new partner at the surgery, waged war on everything the practice stood for. In the end, the team came out on top, with everyone offering to invest in the practice to keep it running.
