The fourth celebrity contestant for Strictly Come Dancing 2026 has been reportedly unveiled, with Dame Sarah Storey, Britain's most decorated Paralympian, joining the line-up. She follows the earlier announcements of EastEnders actress Lacey Turner, Love Island star Dani Dyer, and singer Delta Goodrem.
Dame Sarah Storey Joins the Ballroom
The celebrated cyclist is said to be delighted about participating in the BBC programme. A source told The Sun: "She is obviously very competitive and hopes to give the contest her all, while letting viewers get to know her personality. She's also keen to embrace the glamour of the show and is looking forward to getting dressed up."
Dame Sarah Storey would follow in the footsteps of other Paralympians who have previously competed on the show, including Jonnie Peacock, Will Bayley, Jody Cundy, and Ellie Simmonds.
Early Contestant Reveals Surprise Viewers
The early revelation of contestants has surprised some viewers, as the BBC typically begins announcing participants from August. This year, names have emerged sooner, with Lacey Turner confirmed first. The Stacey Slater actress expressed her excitement: "I am so excited to be making my way to the dance floor this year to be a part of Strictly! I am a huge fan and can't quite believe I will be taking part and not watching at home this year!"
Dani Dyer, who had to pull out last year due to injury, is equally thrilled about her return. She said: "I am so excited to be back in the ballroom this September! I just cannot wait to get my dancing shoes back on and hopefully this time around I can actually make it to week one!"
Delta Goodrem also shared her enthusiasm: "I've been incredibly honoured to perform on many different stages throughout my career, but there is one stage I've never stepped onto and that is the ballroom floor! I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining Strictly and can't wait to get started."
New Presenters for the Upcoming Series
The BBC programme returns during the autumn and winter months, marking the first series since presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman departed. Producers have chosen Johannes Radebe, Josh Widdicombe, and Emma Willis to share hosting duties.
