Cruz Beckham made his Leeds Festival debut on Sunday, but his famous parents were not in the audience to watch his set with his band, The Breakers. The 21-year-old performed at the festival a day after David and Victoria Beckham were seen supporting him at Reading Festival.
Impressive debut performance
Despite the absence of his family, Cruz impressed the crowd at Leeds, playing his own original tracks as well as a rendition of “Hey Jude” by The Beatles. A source told the Mirror that Cruz “definitely knew how to entertain a festival crowd” and that his performance of “Optics” had the crowd “going wild.”
The source added: “The audience was packed out of the tent, it was the biggest crowd The Canopy has seen all weekend.” They also said: “He might be a nepo-baby and unlike his brother Brooklyn, he’s certainly not a wannabe - Cruz Beckham is a fully fledged musician ready to dominate the industry.”
Family support at Reading
A day earlier, at the Reading half of the weekend event, Cruz’s family were spotted in the crowd. David and Victoria were joined by their children Romeo and Harper, while Brooklyn remained absent amid their reported feud. One fan told the Mirror: “Victoria looked so distracted. Got to be sad having everyone but Brooklyn there.”
Another fan said: “I can't believe it! I came hoping to see them and they're actually here. It's so nice they've come to support Cruz because they didn't have to.”
Busy summer for Cruz
The Leeds and Reading appearances were part of a busy summer for the musician. Days earlier, Cruz made a surprise appearance at Rock N Roll Circus Norwich, joining The Kooks on stage at Earlham Park. In July, he dedicated a song to his sister Harper during a gig in London, saying: “We have a special lady in the crowd tonight, my little sister, it's her favourite one of my songs. Harper, I love you!”
He added: “Thank you London, thank you Harper, I love ya.” Harper appeared delighted by the shoutout, smiling in footage shared on the band’s Instagram. David and Victoria were also present at that gig, alongside Romeo and his girlfriend, Kim Turnball.
