Coronation Street viewers have begun to suspect that Sam Blakeman may be responsible for the murder of Theo Silverton, ruling out the six named suspects in the ongoing storyline. The revelation came after the victim reveal episode aired on May 1, showing Sam briefly looking distressed, which fans believe hints at his involvement.
Theo was killed last month, and his body was discovered by Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor. The murder mystery initially focused on five potential victims, including Theo, Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh, and Maggie Driscoll, but it was eventually confirmed that Theo was the one who died.
In the lead-up to his death, Theo had been violent towards his husband Todd Grimshaw, leading to a police order to stay away. Despite this, Theo confronted Todd multiple times, with undertaker George Shuttleworth helping Todd escape. However, Theo later found Todd again, and the situation escalated until Todd managed to hide and call for help.
Fans have taken to social media to share their theories, with many pointing to Sam's recent mental health struggles and hallucinations. One viewer tweeted: "I'm now wondering if Sam was hallucinating thinking he saw Will on the scaffolding and it was actually he who pushed Theo to his death!" Another added: "Was that scene of Sam hallucinating with the view of the scaffolding an hint to him being the killer of Theo thinking he was will #corrie."
The official suspects include Todd, George, Christina Boyd, Summer Spellman, Gary Windass, and Theo's ex-wife Danielle Silverton, but fans believe the real culprit is Sam. The investigation, led by DS Lisa Connor-Swain and DC Kit Green, continues as the soap keeps viewers guessing.
