Coronation Street fans have been left confused by Sarah Platt's latest prison scenes as she fears for her life while facing a lengthy stretch for the murder of Theo Silverton.
Last month, viewers of the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, saw Sarah arrested on suspicion of the dastardly builder, months after his lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum, Lisa Swain's, wedding to Carla Connor in April.
Flashback reveals Sarah's role
Weeks after a 'whodunnit' got underway, flashback scenes aired in June revealed that it was Sarah who appeared to deal the blow that sent a drunk Theo tumbling off the scaffolding outside his flat and plummeting to the ground - before she called on her former flame, Gary Windass, for help.
As Todd struggled in the aftermath of his abusive husband's murder, Sarah ended up confessing the truth of her crime to her best friend, while her partner, DC Kit Green, found out when she admitted to killing Theo as he was trying to pop the question.
Terror behind bars
Despite Kit's attempts to help cover up her crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo and while, at first, she pleaded her innocence, the evidence was stacked against her and DS Lisa Connor-Swain said she had no choice but to charge Sarah with Theo's murder.
And things don't seem to be going well for Sarah behind bars, as having already been left with a black eye by one inmate, another, Kacey, has been blackmailing her in order for her to get Kit to help get her son off a recent charge.
During Thursday's (August 27) episode of Corrie, viewers saw that Sarah was horrified to find photographs of her son, Harry, had been vandalised. Kacey, as expected, denied it was her, however, Sarah's terror continued when Kacey pulled out her phone and found that photos of Harry and another boy had been posted on social media.
Fans question phone access
In a panic, Sarah used the cell phone to leave Harry a message to go and be with his former step-father, Adam Barlow, when Kacey sinisterly commented: "I don't want anyone to get hurt. I just need one small favour from your ex. For Harry's sake, and Bethany's too."
After Adam managed to get to the bottom of what had been going on, a worried Sarah was seen with some stolen pool balls, which she held close as she struggled to sleep. But as her prison plight continues, it appears Corrie fans were baffled by one detail in particular.
