Coronation Street has confirmed when Theo Silverton's killer will be unmasked in a dramatic new trailer for an upcoming episode of the long-running show.
As those who follow the ITV soap know, it has been weeks since the abuser was revealed as the villain who was killed off on the night of Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain's wedding day.
Theo's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain, months after it was teased that he could be one of five villains murdered in the dramatic storyline. In February, Corrie transported viewers to April, where Betsy was seen being interviewed by police after discovering the dead body of someone she knew.
At the time, it was then revealed that Theo, Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh and Maggie Driscoll were the potential victims, with the week following showing how their behaviours could lead to them being at risk of death.
It was not until a week after the wedding actually took place on April 23, and aired on-screen, that Betsy was seen discovering Theo dead, and a 'whodunnit' has since been underway, with Corrie previously confirming Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass and Danielle Silverton as the six potential suspects.
Now, Corrie fans have been invited to a dinner party with a difference on the cobbles next week when home truths are served, and the tea is most definitely spilt. By the end of the evening, viewers will learn who killed Theo, as a series of flashbacks revisit the fateful April night when his body was found.
The hour-long episode will air on Monday, June 22, where secrets and lies are exposed, and the mystery of Theo's murder is finally solved. Corrie has also confirmed the episode will not be held back for broadcast on ITV, as it will be available to stream on ITVX and YouTube from 7am.
Sharing more details as to what fans can expect, earlier in the day, Kit Green discovers that Sarah Platt has invited Todd and Summer round for dinner, and decides to add Maria and Gary Windass to the guest list. As Corrie fans know, Sarah and Gary have been hiding something for weeks, with Maria suspecting the former couple are having an affair.
Corrie has revealed a stylish new promo, available now on YouTube, that shows how the dinner party descends into chaos, with a broken glass, an overturned chair and angry accusations thrown. Maria Connor seizes an opportunity to turn up the heat on hubby, Gary, when she accuses Sarah and Gary of having an affair.
But she is not the only one with suspicions about the former lovers, Kit has also noticed Gary and Sarah's strange behaviour and wants answers. With more than one person sitting around the table having a motive for wanting Theo dead, who has blood on their hands and what other secrets are the dinner guests keeping?
