Chris Packham dropped his head in his hand after accusing Michaela Strachan of 'ruining' his segment on the latest episode of Springwatch. The duo presented the BBC programme live from the National Trust Crom in Northern Ireland on Tuesday evening.
Limpets Cause Tension on Set
Towards the end of the show, the presenters discussed limpets, the aquatic snails known for clamping tightly to coastal rocks. Chris used a replica limpet as a visual aid to explain the concept of convergent evolution.
'Over the last 500 million years, on at least 54 occasions, those gastropods have evolved into having this conical type shell,' Chris told viewers. However, Michaela interrupted by revealing that limpets have evolved to survive in intertidal zones, prompting Chris to exclaim, 'You've ruined it!' as he confiscated the prop.
The light-hearted exchange delighted fans, with many taking to social media to share their amusement. Springwatch continues to air weeknights on BBC Two.
