Chopstix reopens on Lord Street with queues in Liverpool

Queues formed in Liverpool city centre today (June 9) for the reopening of one of Lord Street's longest-established brands. Liverpool ONE noodle bar Chopstix had a brief hiatus to 'level up' the restaurant with a flashy new aesthetic.

Founded in London in 2002, the company grew from a single noodle outlet into a large fast-casual restaurant chain with locations throughout the UK and Ireland. In Liverpool, the brand, which sells Pan-Asian street food, has established a presence in the city centre with the venue on Lord Street and another in St Johns Shopping Centre.

The restaurant now features Asian-themed neon signs, artwork, colourful seating and booths, four kiosks to order food and a capacity of more than 40 people. The upgraded store opened at 11am, rejoining more than 140 locations nationwide. To mark the occasion, the first 100 customers were treated to a free medium box with the chance to win free merch, discount vouchers and app points throughout the day.

Queues began forming outside of the restaurant after the opening with lines stretching along Lord Street close to midday. Gareth Brannigan, head of new store openings for Chopstix, said: 'In each new location we refurbish, we have been blown away by the response from customers. So many people are looking for a quick, tasty and affordable option for lunch, and Chopstix is the ideal option for fresh flavours on-the-go.'

This isn't the only restaurant news for Liverpool ONE recently. Last month, the ECHO reported how YouTube sensations The Sidemen unveiled their first-ever Liverpool location. Towards the beginning of this year, the group announced its plans to expand its Sides fried chicken chain with 15 more restaurants in 2026, including a new branch in Liverpool.
