Callum Turner Films 'One Night Only' in NYC Amid Dua Lipa Engagement
Callum Turner Films New Comedy in New York

On a Wednesday evening in New York City, British actor Callum Turner was spotted on set for his new film, One Night Only, creating a scene that might have confused onlookers into thinking he was with his famous fiancée.

A Glamorous Co-star on the Subway Set

Turner, 35, was not with pop superstar Dua Lipa, but was instead filming alongside his stunning co-star, Monica Barbaro. The pair were captured exiting a downtown Manhattan subway station and racing through turnstiles as cameras rolled for the forthcoming comedy. Directed by Will Gluck, the film follows two strangers attempting to have premarital sex on the one night of the year where it is legal.

While Turner was dressed casually in a short-sleeved polo shirt and trousers, Barbaro, 35, commanded attention in a glittering silver minidress with a distinctive plunging neckline. The American actress, who recently portrayed folk legend Joan Baez in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, made a striking figure on the outdoor set.

The Real-Life Romance: Turner and Dua Lipa

Turner's professional commitments come at an exciting time in his personal life, as he prepares to marry pop sensation Dua Lipa. The actor confirmed their engagement in July and has since openly adored his partner, recently labelling her 'the most beautiful woman in the world' in an interview with The Times Style.

He detailed their serendipitous first meeting, revealing they had several 'near misses' before finally connecting at a mutual friend's birthday. Their instant bond was sealed when they discovered they were both reading the same novel, Hernan Diaz's Trust.

Making a Long-Distance Relationship Work

With Lipa currently on the US leg of her Radical Optimism Tour, set to conclude in December, and Turner busy filming, the couple relies on a simple but powerful rule to maintain their relationship. 'It’s never not worth it' is their guiding slogan.

Turner explained that they prioritise seeing each other whenever possible, stating, 'If you can go for two days, just go. And if you’re tired, it doesn’t matter because you’re going to have a nice time and have a nice memory.' Lipa has similarly expressed her joy, telling Harper's Bazaar she is learning to be vulnerable and 'allow love.'

The film, which also stars Pete Davidson as a detective, is scheduled for release by Universal Pictures next summer.
