Bullseye Set To Return For New ITV Series

ITV has confirmed that the classic darts-themed gameshow Bullseye will return for a full series and a Christmas special, with former cricketer Freddie Flintoff as host. The revival follows a successful one-off episode last year, which aired 43 years after the show's original debut.

The programme will follow its original format, featuring teams of an amateur dart player, known as the 'thrower', and their partner, the 'knower'. They combine darts skills with answering questions to win points and prizes. Three teams compete, with the final pair risking their winnings for 'Bully's Mystery Star Prize', typically a car or holiday.

Freddie Flintoff will host, alongside scorer Richard Ashdown and guest darts professionals. Last year's Christmas special attracted over 30,000 applicants and 8.6 million viewers, topping ITV's ratings and outperforming shows like The Chase and The 1% Club.

Bullseye originally ran from 1982 to 1995 with host Jim Bowen, and was briefly revived on Challenge TV in 2006. The new series is set to air on Sunday, November 9 on ITV1 and ITVX.
