Bar Lina's Festive Fragolino: A Tiny Christmas Cocktail

A Festive Sip in a Small Glass

As the festive season approaches, a London and Manchester-based bar has created the perfect miniature tipple to get you in the holiday spirit. Bar Lina, in collaboration with renowned drinks writer Tyler Zielinski, has unveiled its Tiny Fragolino, a rosy-red cocktail designed as a light aperitif. This charming drink is part of a wider initiative the bar launched earlier this year to reimagine Italian classics in a smaller, more delicate form.

The Recipe: Crafting the Perfect Tiny Fragolino

Creating this festively fizzy drink is wonderfully straightforward. The recipe, championed by Matteo Pesce, Bar Lina's head of beverage, and Tyler Zielinski, requires just a few key ingredients. You will need 15ml of red vermouth – the bar uses Karminia – and 7.5ml of strawberry liqueur, specifically Bepi Tosolini’s Fragola. The final, fizzy component is cherry kombucha, with You + I’s black cherry variety being the recommended choice, though any cherry kombucha will suffice.

The method is simple: measure the vermouth and strawberry liqueur into a shaker filled with ice. Stir the mixture gently to combine and chill the liquids. Then, strain the blend into a small highball glass. The final touch is topping up the glass with the cherry kombucha to your personal taste, ready to be served immediately.

Why This Cocktail Captures the Season

This miniature cocktail is more than just a drink; it's a thoughtfully designed experience. The Tiny Fragolino is based on a rustic Italian strawberry liqueur, offering a taste of the countryside in a sophisticated, urban setting. Its vibrant, rosy-red hue makes it a visually fitting choice for Christmas and New Year's celebrations. As a light, pre-dinner aperitif, it prepares the palate without overwhelming it, making it an ideal start to any festive meal. The project with Tyler Zielinski continues to showcase Bar Lina's commitment to innovation and quality in the competitive UK cocktail scene.
