Personal trainer Sam Eastwood, who works with stars on the set of Mission Impossible 6, has revealed that Pilates is her go-to exercise for building an action-film ready body. Eastwood, who has trained Rebecca Ferguson and Tom Cruise for the upcoming spy sequel, says Pilates should be the foundation of any fitness routine.
Eastwood, who also worked on Jack Reacher 2, The Mummy, Terminator 5 and Inferno, credits Pilates with helping her recover after giving birth in 2009. 'Within six weeks I saw a massive difference. I know I would not have had that if I’d done CrossFit or just been running,' she said.
Despite the current trend for heavy weightlifting, Eastwood advises women to stick with low weights and high reps to maintain a feminine physique. 'Everyone is lifting heavy weights right now but just stick to what you love doing. It’s good to challenge the body but you don’t have to lift heavy weights to do that,' she explained.
Eastwood, who is married to stunt director Wade Eastwood, has signed numerous non-disclosure agreements but was recently tagged by English actress Vanessa Kirby in an Instagram post, suggesting she is training Kirby for a major role. She is currently training actors on the set of Mission Impossible 6, due for release in 2018.
