Former Emmerdale actress Amy Nuttall has been cast in a new TV drama, marking her return to screens 20 years after her explosive exit from the ITV soap. She will star in Channel 5's Forever Home, an adaptation of Graham Norton's novel.
New role in Forever Home
Nuttall, who played Chloe Atkinson in Emmerdale from 2000 to 2005, will play Carol Crottie in the series. The show is described by the broadcaster as "a darkly emotional story about marriage, family and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her children."
Carol's husband Robert will be played by Douglas Henshall, known for his role in Shetland. The cast also includes Kevin Whately, Shane Zaza, and Denise Welch, who will play Carol's mother Moira Crottie.
Plot details
The synopsis reveals that Carol begins to suspect her older partner Robert's reluctance to leave their home is linked to the disappearance of his first wife, Joan, who ran off with Robert's brother 20 years ago, leaving behind their two children, Kaden and Sally. As Robert's anxiety about the house's hidden basement grows, Carol and her mother investigate Joan's whereabouts, uncovering secrets that will take time to untangle.

The series is co-produced by FilmNation Entertainment and The Mediapro Studio, with support from the North East Production Fund and North East Screen.
