Alison Hammond's 2002 Big Brother Dance with Liberty X Goes Viral

Alison Hammond's fans have been left in hysterics after a clip of her dancing wildly with Liberty X at the 2002 Big Brother went viral. The TV personality, now 51, found fame on the series before finishing in 12th place, only to return and take to the stage ahead of Kate Lawler being crowned champion.

Viral Dance Moment

Alison was in her element as she threw her arms in the air while boogying to the band's iconic hit Just A Little. While Michelle Heaton and her bandmates belted out the lyrics, the future Great British Bake Off host shook her hips and ran about as the audience went wild. After going viral, fans commented: 'Alison has been living her best life since'; 'Alison, the woman you are!!'; 'iconic'; 'This is iconic!!'; 'She's not changed one bit'; and 'One of the few things that makes me proud to be British anymore!'.

Career Success

Despite not winning Big Brother, Alison has gone on to become one of TV's most famous faces, hosting shows such as This Morning and The Great British Bake Off. She has also landed a new ITV Saturday night programme, Name That Tune, which could put her chances of hosting Strictly Come Dancing in jeopardy. The series will see a group of musicians cover songs live in front of a studio audience, who have to guess the name of the track.

Strictly Come Dancing Rumours

Alison had long been among the rumoured names to join Strictly to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. However, as her schedule fills up, it could now mean the BBC competition is off the cards. A TV insider said: 'Although execs know she is free to take up offers from other channels, Alison is very much seen as an ITV face, and the channel are keen to maintain that link. She already hosts This Morning and For the Love of Dogs for the channel, but this would arguably be her biggest gig to date with ITV.' They added: 'It remains to be seen exactly when it would air, but after being touted as a host for Strictly, this show might end up seeing her go head-to-head with it.'

Alison's Comments

Alison said in a statement: 'I grew up absolutely loving the original show so being part of this now feels like a real full-circle moment. I cannot wait to get into the studio, put the contestants through their paces, and see who really knows their music. And let me tell you, being joined by the super-talented Name That Tune band, who'll be belting out some of the biggest songs on the planet in their own unique, electric style… oh, it's going to be next-level. Bigger, louder, and more feel-good than ever this is going to be EPIC!'

Alison recently backtracked on rejecting the Strictly Come Dancing hosting job, insisting she'd be 'crazy' to turn down the opportunity. She told Radio Times: 'I'm so busy babes, that I'm not sure it's going to happen. It's unrealistic.' However, she later clarified to Metro: 'Do you think I would turn down Strictly if Strictly came along? Who would turn down Strictly! They'd be absolutely crazy. I was trying to back them off because ultimately everyone keeps putting my name in the mix and they're ruining my chances of even getting on to Strictly, d'you know what I mean? You all need to stop talking about it because I need to get in. I'm not too busy, I'm fitter than I've ever been before. I can do Strictly. I can do it all. All these people saying: "I'm too busy, and I can't do it…", I could do Strictly. Let's put that on the record.'
