Zayn Malik has said an emotional goodbye as his first solo tour, the Stairway to the Sky tour, concluded its UK and US legs earlier this week. The 32-year-old singer took to Instagram on Saturday to share a collection of photos from the tour, expressing gratitude to fans for their support.
In a heartfelt caption to his 53.9 million followers, Malik wrote: '…And that's a wrap for my first ever solo tour across the UK & US! To every single zquad, my friends and family, to my whole team… Thank you for believing in me, being patient, and for the unwavering amount of love and support you've given me throughout the years. We got there! Big Love.'
The tour, which supported his fourth studio album Room Under The Stairs, kicked off on 23 November in Leeds, England. It included stops in Manchester, London, and Wolverhampton, the hometown of his late One Direction bandmate Liam Payne. Malik paid tribute to Payne during the Wolverhampton show, with a backdrop reading 'Liam Payne 1993-2024. Love you bro.'
Earlier in the tour, Malik cancelled a Newcastle concert at the last minute due to voice issues, apologising to fans on Instagram Stories. He expressed hope to return the following night. Despite the setback, the tour concluded successfully, and Malik will next perform in Mexico in March.
