The Yorkshire Vet star Peter Wright shared devastating news with fans as beloved dog Rambo died after filming his episode. The official Channel 5 show account took to Instagram to announce that Rambo had passed away since last night's episode aired on August 20.
Rambo, a Boston terrier, was the pet of Kevin and Carol, who appeared on the show alongside Peter. He died in July 2025, but his episode only just aired. The announcement, made today (August 21), read: "Thanks for watching last night everyone and for all your kind comments. Sadly, the lovely Rambo has passed away since we filmed the episode. But he enjoyed a fantastic life with Kevin and Carol, who spoilt him until the end."
Rambo's Legacy and Memorial
The statement continued: "Rambo will never be forgotten and now has a plaque at the Memorial Garden in Thirsk. And congratulations to Nurse Chloe for 'Braving the Shave' to raise money for Prostate Cancer Research. And to Peter, our very own Vidal Sassoon… of buzz cuts!"
It concluded: "Have a great weekend, and we'll have another new episode for you at 8pm next Thursday."
Health Struggles and Final Days
Rambo had been brought into the Sandbeck Veterinary Centre after presenting with blood in his mouth and swelling around his face. Sadly, an inoperable growth was found at the back of his mouth, and his owners were advised to keep him comfortable for as long as possible.
His owner Carol said: "You know that you're not going to have your dog forever, but it's still so hard. But I think you've got to think about the life that you gave them. And he's had a lovely life, and he's made our lives nicer, he really has. So, we're just gonna let him enjoy his life like he always has done."
Fans React with Condolences
Condolences flooded in from fans, with one writing: "Love watching you, sad about Rambo but he was well loved." Somebody else penned: "I know how they are feeling, lost my boy 5 weeks ago to a mass." And a third said: "Kevin and Carol were the best, lovely owners."
