Woman's 'Gossip Girl' Selfie Blunder Reveals Lookalike, Not Ed Westwick

A woman was thrilled to have bumped into a star of US teen drama series Gossip Girl while on a night out in Hong Kong, but as she went to look at the photo they took together the next day, she quickly realised her blunder.

Angelina 'Angel' Medvedeva was excited to look at the selfie she remembered taking with Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick, who played Chuck Bass in the TV series, which ran for 121 episodes between 2007 and 2012. However, she couldn't believe her eyes when she saw who was actually in the photo.

Drunken Mistake Caught on Camera

Taking to her Instagram, Angelina shared the photo to her followers, as her and her friend admitted to having been too drunk to realise their mistake in the moment.

"Level of drunkenness: Thinking you met Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl and asking him for a photo," she wrote at the start of the video, which showed a photo of her and her friend during the night out.

Angelina then went on to share a photo of Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass, looking sharp in a stylish grey suit.

Selfie Reveals the Truth

The video then cut to the selfie - revealing the man standing between Angelina and her friend is very clearly not Ed Westwick.

While the two men both have dark brown hair, that's where the similarities end, as the man in the photo has a different hairstyle, as well as a different facial shape. He's also inexplicably wearing sunglasses indoors.

Viewers Share Their Reactions

And it wasn't just Angelina that found the blunder hilarious, as hundreds of people took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

"Iconic," one viewer wrote, while another said: "HAHAHAA SLAY GIRL."

Someone else wrote: "I was like this is absolute nonsense but then I had to do some soul searching and realized I have done this nonsense too."

Another person wondered: "My question is do y'all just approach these people and say omg chuck bass can I take a pic? And they just … agree ? That's amazing."

"What did you drink?" someone else joked, clearly baffled by how the blunder came to be.

And it seems Angelina wasn't the only one thinking they'd met an A-list celebrity, as several viewers also took to the comments section to share their selfies with various celebrity lookalikes.
