A single woman has been accused of being 'kinky' and even worshipping the devil due to her extensive body tattoos, but her facial ink is a tribute to her late father. Sally Moss got her first tattoo, a flower on her wrist, when she was 18 and quickly began adding more ink to her collection every year.
The beautician, who has covered most of her body in tattoos, admits she has an addictive personality and gets new body art every month. After running out of space on her arms, chest, legs and feet three years ago, Sally moved onto her face, getting a tattoo above her eyebrow in honour of her dad who sadly passed away.
Sally revealed she also used to sketch on her face with liquid eyeliner before deciding to go under the needle again and cover herself fully. The 36-year-old said men often misinterpret her as 'kinky' due to her appearance and that most of them are only interested in a 'one night thing'.
She looked a lot different in the past. Sally admitted she's accustomed to negative reactions from people because of her looks, with some even labelling her a 'devil worshipper'. While Sally used to be upset by negative comments online, she now finds amusement in people's reactions.
Sally, from Stockport, Greater Manchester, said: "At the start when I first started getting face tattoos it might have bothered me a little bit then but I got used to it over the years. I started when I was 18. My first tattoo was a little flower on my wrist. I have so many now, I have tattoos over tattoos. I got another one on my 19th birthday and that was it then. A bit like Pringles, once you start you can't stop. I've got an addictive personality, I've literally not stopped. I was getting tattoos last week, I probably get more every month."
She has tattoos everywhere. She added: "I moved on to arms, hands, chest, legs. I covered most of my body and then went to the face. If you get a tattoo, it might as well be on show where everyone can see it. My first face one I wanted it for quite a while. It says 'padre para siempre', which means 'father forever' because my father passed away, so it's quite meaningful to me. Above my eyebrow. I used to sit in front of the mirror and use black eyeliner to doodle all over my face. Guys tend to think I'm a kinky one. They just see the tattoos and the filler and they think you are going to be a one-night thing. They think, 'she is right dirty in the bedroom' and stuff like that. They just assume that, I haven't had good past relationships. Men make assumptions about me all the time that are not necessarily true."
She has a tattoo tribute to her dad. "I've had so many friend requests [online], one guy wanted me to send pictures of all my tattoos on my body. He was adamant. I've had people randomly take pictures of me when I'm out and about." Having built up resilience against nasty remarks, Sally says she now finds keyboard warriors who abuse her online rather amusing.
Sally said: "Most of the comments are positive but you do get the negative ones. Most of them are keyboard warriors, if they were standing there in front of me, they wouldn't say it to my face. Some guy said a negative comment when I was in a pub minding my own business [one day]. That day I kicked off, got my back up a bit. I have a bit of a thick skin now, some comments just make me laugh now. I'll be called devil worshipper and it proper tickles me. Now it doesn't affect me at all. People call me 'a mess' and 'a state'. Carry on because I'll sit here with my popcorn reading all the comments."
