A woman named Lucy, an American living in London, has shared her honest review of the food she tried at Wimbledon, claiming that a savory dish outperformed the tournament's iconic strawberries and cream.
Strawberries and Cream Falls Short
In a video, Lucy said: "Here's my honest review of everything I ate at Wimbledon." She then tried the famous strawberries and cream, priced at £2.85, but was unimpressed. "I need to de-influence you from the famous strawberries and cream," she stated. "I really hyped myself up for it. For some reason, I thought it'd at least be whipped cream. Instead, it kind of felt like I was dipping strawberries in milk."
Lunch and Drinks
For lunch, Lucy ordered a venison ragu mac and cheese for £13.65. She commented: "It looked promising, but for the price, there was barely any meat. It wasn't that flavourful, and honestly, it didn't keep me full for very long." To cool off, she drank a strawberry and basil kombucha (£3.70), calling it "so refreshing," and a frozen coffee frappe (£7), which she said "brought her back to life."
Dinner Winner
For dinner, Lucy tried the karage chicken with a fermented strawberry glaze, priced at £13.65. She praised it as her standout meal of the day, stating she would gladly order it again. "Wimbledon, and I think living in the UK in general, has made strawberries my new favourite fruit," she added, explaining her affinity for the chicken dish.
Viewer Reactions
Viewers responded in the comments, with one writing: "Ooo that chicken looks goooood! Love it!" Another questioned: "Who adds liquid/non whipped cream to strawberries? That's criminal."
