Celebrities and Royalty Gather for Ladies' Singles Final
Jodie Foster, Davina McCall, Kemi Badenoch and Hannah Waddingham are among the celebrities gracing the Royal Box on Day 13 of the Wimbledon Championships. They will join the Princess of Wales and past champions to watch the Ladies' Singles Final on Saturday, July 11.
Matchup: Czech Rivals Muchova and Noskova
The final features a climactic showdown between Czech players Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova. Muchova advanced after a tense semi-final against US player Coco Gauff on Thursday, where Gauff lost a decisive match point during a tie-break. Muchova said: 'During that tie-break, it was kind of a roller coaster as well emotionally for me. One point I felt good, I hit a nice winner, and then I did a terrible mistake. In my head I was just "I have to keep hitting". I was telling myself if I'm going to lose this, I want to lose on my own terms.'
Noskova's Path to the Final
Noskova defeated Marta Kostyuk 6-4, 6-4 to reach the final against her fellow countrywoman. The Princess of Wales, 44, will present the trophy to the winner, assisted by All England Club chief executive Sally Bolton. Kate will be accompanied by club chairwoman Deborah Jevans and Lawn Tennis Association president Roy Colabawalla.
Men's Singles Update
On Friday, Briton Arthur Fery was knocked out of the championships by men's finalist Alexander Zverev, who will face defending champion Jannik Sinner in the Men's Singles Final on Sunday.
