Emmerdale actor William Ash, known for his role as Caleb Miligan, has a famous cousin who will be familiar to many soap fans. The 49-year-old actor joined the Dales in 2022 as the long-lost son of Faith Dingle and Frank Tate.
Caleb's Storylines
Over the years, Caleb has been at the center of several dramatic plots. He supported his wife Ruby after revealing she was sexually abused by her father Anthony Fox. This led to the discovery that his daughter Steph was not biologically his, conceived through the abuse. Caleb also stood by his brother Cain during his cancer battle and recently lost £5,000 in a scam by employee Kerry Pollard and Archie Breckle.
Family Acting Talent
William Ash grew up in Chadderton, near Oldham, and attended North Chadderton Comprehensive, where he met his future on-screen brother Jeff Hordley. Their drama teacher, Colin Snell, also taught actors like Nicola Stephenson, Jonas Armstrong, and Jenna Coleman.
William's cousin is Peter Ash, a well-known actor who appeared in Casualty, Footballers' Wives, and Hollyoaks. Peter is best known for playing Paul Foreman on Coronation Street, the husband of vicar Billy Mayhew and twin brother of Gemma Winter-Brown. Paul died in September 2024 after battling Motor Neurone Disease.
Peter Ash's Career
After leaving Coronation Street, Peter starred in the Channel 5 thriller The Teacher, audio drama Project Bläckfisk, and the stage adaptation of Picture You Dead.
