Natasha Rothwell champions body diversity in wellness

The White Lotus star Natasha Rothwell has called for a more inclusive vision of health and wellness, arguing that the industry should not conflate health with thinness. The 45-year-old actor, who identifies as proud to be plus-sized, said such conflation is 'just not true'.

Rothwell, who plays Belinda Lindsey in the HBO series, is collaborating with ASICS on a campaign promoting 15 minutes of daily movement. She noted that endorsement opportunities in the wellness space are often 'fronted by people who don’t look like me', which does a disservice to diverse populations.

The writer, producer and director stressed that accessibility is key, adding that for a long time she could not afford wellness resorts. She advocates for simple measures such as a short walk or meditation to boost mental health, and warned against the idea that only expensive solutions bring peace.

Rothwell also spoke about managing burnout, describing how she uses 15-minute resets to step away, breathe and feel the sun. She emphasised the importance of listening to one's body and prioritising health over constant productivity.
