Greater Manchester is set for a busy weekend as a heatwave coincides with England's World Cup quarter-final against Norway, alongside the Wimbledon finals. Bars, pubs, and beer gardens are expected to be packed, but there are plenty of other events to enjoy across the region.
Festwich: UK's Biggest Tribute Festival
Festwich returns to Heaton Park this weekend, with tickets still available. The festival features over 30 live bands across four arenas, paying tribute to rock acts such as Iron Maiden, The Cure, Arctic Monkeys, and Fontaines DC. Alongside live music, there is a funfair, food stalls, and five bar areas.
Vintage Spectacular at Stockport Market Hall
On Sunday, July 12, from 11am to 4pm, Stockport Market Hall hosts the Vintage Spectacular. The hall will be filled with stalls selling retro clothing, accessories, homeware, vinyl records, and more. Outside, live music from Leeds City Stompers and a retro bike display will entertain visitors.
Wimbledon Finals on Big Screen
The women's Wimbledon final takes place on Saturday, July 11, and the men's final on Sunday, July 12. Several venues across Greater Manchester will show the matches, including Station South in Levenshulme, which will screen them on a big screen.
Manchester Brick Festival for LEGO Fans
LEGO enthusiasts of all ages are invited to the Manchester Brick Festival on Saturday, July 11, at Sugden Sports Centre. The event includes speed building competitions, large-scale displays, activities, and traders selling loose bricks, new LEGO sets, and retired LEGO sets.
England vs Norway World Cup Quarter-Final
England secured a place in the World Cup quarter-finals after a win against Mexico in the early hours of Monday morning. The match against Norway will take place at Miami Stadium, Florida, kicking off at 10pm BST on Saturday. Numerous locations in Greater Manchester will show the game, including Freight Island, Co-op Live, and Diecast.
