Vogue Williams reveals Martin Kemp's I'm A Celebrity exemptions

Former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Vogue Williams has made surprising claims about fellow campmate Martin Kemp's participation in the ITV reality show. The Irish presenter, 40, who was eliminated on Monday night, stated that the Spandau Ballet star was secretly exempt from a number of the gruelling Bushtucker trials.

Instagram Live Revelations

Speaking to fans during an Instagram Live session on Wednesday from her five-star hotel in Surfer's Paradise, Vogue addressed questions about life in the jungle. She confirmed that while Martin Kemp did want to undertake the challenges, producers had ruled him out of a selection for undisclosed reasons. "Martin did want to do the trials, but Martin was exempt from some," Vogue told her followers. She added that it was unusual for a year where "everybody wanted to do the trials".

Williams praised Kemp's character, describing him as "really, really lovely" and suggested his quieter nature meant he was "kinda happy to let everybody else go ahead". Her comments came just a day after Kemp's own son, radio presenter Roman, had publicly joked about his father's lack of screen time during the trials.

Fan Reaction and ITV Protocol

Viewers had previously taken to social media to question Kemp's absence from the challenges. During Wednesday's episode, comments flooded in as Jack Osbourne faced a trial, with one user writing: "Another day another trial Martin isn’t doing." Another quipped: "Is Martin wearing the cloak of invisibility or something?"

It is understood that ITV frequently grants exemptions to celebrities based on factors such as medical history or age, though the broadcaster has not commented on Kemp's specific case. The Daily Mail has approached ITV for a statement regarding the claims.

The Truth Behind Vogue's Knee Injury

During the same Q&A, Vogue also solved the mystery of the bandage spotted on her right knee during her time in camp. She explained the injury was a result of a self-made game gone wrong. "So there's all these bridges and you're not doing much in there and you're making up games," she said.

"One of the games was let's try and beat our time to cross the bridge, they're quite bouncy, so I ran to cross the bridge and I fell and completely busted my knee." The medic treated the "really painful and a bit gross" injury immediately before she went on to complete a trial. Host Ant McPartlin had previously mentioned the accident, confirming she "fell over… she was trying to run as fast as she could over the bridge".

Vogue, now recovering outside the jungle, expressed hope that the cut wouldn't scar, calling it a "stingy" and annoying souvenir from her I'm A Celebrity experience.
