Vogue Williams has revealed how an innocent Amazon delivery left her facing an awkward situation when a childcare helper stumbled across an unusually large package.
The Irish TV star opened up about the embarrassing incident while chatting to comedian Joanne McNally on the latest episode of My Therapist Ghosted Me.
Preparation for birth
Vogue explained that she had been preparing for the birth of her child and had ordered an Epi-No device after losing her previous one. The device is designed to help with pelvic floor training and birth preparation.
But the purchase came with another item that Vogue was keen to keep private – a large bottle of lubricant. She said she immediately realised it could be difficult to explain the purpose of the delivery to the woman who helps look after her children.
Attempt to hide the package
Vogue said: "I had a really embarrassing moment this week. So, we have a lovely lady who helps us with the kids."
She continued: "I just said to this girl don't open the Amazon packages because obviously I knew the lube was in there and then I thought I can't then explain to her what the lube was for."
Making matters worse, Vogue had opted for a particularly large bottle after spotting it on offer.
"And it wasn't just a small thing of lube because obviously I'm trying to get the best money for what I'm buying and the one I bought was 500ml," she explained.
Discovery and reaction
Joanne was quick to question Vogue's decision to buy such a large quantity, telling her: "You are a working woman, you do not need to bulk buy lube."
Vogue defended herself, saying: "But I don't want to run out and it was on offer."
However, her attempt to keep the purchase out of sight appeared to backfire when she returned home from a weekend away. The enormous bottle had somehow ended up in a prominent position, leaving Vogue with no easy way to explain why she had bought it.
"Anyway, I got home after my weekend away and there is the huge, enormous, and it actually has a little squeezey thing because it is so big that you just do it like a shower gel. The big thing of lube just sitting on the table," she said.
Faced with the awkward discovery, Vogue decided the best option was simply to take it away without saying a word. "And what could I do I just had to take it and walk away and say nothing."
Joanne joked that Vogue had managed to maintain her dignity, replying: "With your head held high." Vogue agreed, adding: "With my head held high and my gooch still intact and happy."
Other awkward moment
The confession comes after another awkward moment for Vogue, who recently appeared on Heart Radio Breakfast Show when Jamie Theakston revealed an unexpected detail about her past. A pub quizmaster in London had played Vogue's 2023 single, Good Girls, during a quiz, leaving some of those taking part unsure about what they were hearing.
Vogue later admitted: "I will never show my face in Clapham again." The quizmaster then told her that some people had even questioned whether the song had been generated using AI.
