Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has been sentenced for assault after throwing her shoes at a woman during a bar brawl in Newcastle. The 25-year-old, from Wallsend, North Tyneside, lashed out at Florita's Bar in July last year after being hit by ice.
Pattison wrongly believed that victim Hannah Kelso, 18, had thrown the ice. Miss Kelso suffered a cut to her face requiring four stitches. At Newcastle Crown Court, Pattison admitted two counts of assault and was ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid work.
She was also ordered to pay £4,000 compensation to Miss Kelso, £750 to a member of staff whose lip she cut, and £1,500 in court costs. Judge Brian Forster QC had previously told Pattison she would not go to jail.
The court heard that Pattison began arguing with Miss Kelso before throwing her shoes when security staff intervened. A probation report stated she had drunk '10 pints of alcohol and shots of spirits' before the attack, though her defence lawyer Anthony O'Donohue said she denied drinking 10 pints but accepted she had drunk a 'considerable amount'.
Judge Forster said Pattison became drunk due to a relationship breakdown and reacted angrily when ice was thrown. CCTV later showed neither Miss Kelso nor her friends had thrown the ice. The judge accepted she felt genuine remorse and gave her credit for her guilty pleas.
