Vicky Pattison Fairy Porn Books Fail to Spice Marriage

Vicky Pattison has revealed that her attempt to spice up her marriage by reading 'fairy porn' has failed. The former Geordie Shore star admitted that her husband Ercan Ramadan was initially excited when he learned she was reading the fantasy romance books, but the desired effect did not materialize.

Vicky Pattison Hooked on Fairy Porn

The 38-year-old TV personality confessed she is addicted to the bestselling fantasy romance series 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' by author Sarah J. Maas. The books have become a cultural phenomenon among Gen Z readers and celebrities like Margot Robbie. Vicky joked, "I have been working all day and the thing that was keeping us going was my snacks and my fairy porn."

She added, "I do think fairy porn is a whole genre in itself. What hooks you is not the writing or the literary style; it speaks to something animalistic in a woman."

Husband's Disappointment

Pattison explained that Ercan was delighted when a friend told him the books could spice up their marriage. "Ercan thought, 'She's going to get all fired up reading about these fairies'. But he's not reaping the benefits because I just want to s*** the fairies," she told presenter Angela Scanlon on their Get a Grip podcast.

The Romantasy Genre

'A Court of Thorns and Roses' follows huntress Feyre Archeron who kills a wolf that turns out to be fae. As punishment, she is taken to a magical kingdom where she becomes entangled with the High Fae Lord Tamlin. The series blends fantasy adventure, romance, and steamy relationships, turning Sarah J. Maas into one of the world's bestselling writers.

Pattison believes the books tap into deep-rooted female fantasies. She said, "I found out through these books that I want a man to go to war for me, even though I didn't have myself pegged as that type of girl."

Romantasy Boom

The romantasy boom has been driven largely by TikTok's BookTok community, where readers share emotional reactions and recommendations. Alongside Maas's series, titles like 'Fourth Wing' and 'From Blood and Ash' have attracted millions of readers worldwide. Major bookshops now dedicate entire sections to romantasy novels, and reports suggest Margot Robbie's production company has explored adapting 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' for the screen.
