Vicky Myers teases big Lisa Connor-Swain storylines ahead

Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has hinted at significant storylines ahead for her character Lisa Connor-Swain, expressing her willingness to remain on the show for another five years if invited.

Teasing Future Storylines

Speaking to BBC 6 Music's Chris Hawkins behind the scenes at The Piece Hall in Halifax, Myers was asked about her tenure on the ITV soap. When Hawkins mentioned, "You've been doing it five years now, are you in for another five?", she replied: "Oh, I don't know. I'll be in for another five if they'll have me. We'll just have to wait and see."

She added: "I know that there's quite a bit coming up, which is great. But for me, as long as Lisa and the stories are challenging, that's what we do it for, and they're interesting, and they've got something to say, then I will."

Character Evolution

Myers, who hails from Stockport, made her debut as DS Swain in 2021. It wasn't until early 2024 that Corrie announced her as a regular cast member. Since then, Lisa has been involved in storylines including a relationship with Carla Connor, who became seriously ill, and the return of her ex-wife Becky Swain, thought to have been killed in the line of duty. Lisa and Carla made history earlier this year by becoming the first two women to marry in Weatherfield.

Reflecting on her time on the show, Myers said: "Yeah, I love playing Lisa, and to see her evolve over that period of time, to just come in for four episodes and to have sort of built up a backstory for her anyway and for the show to have invested in that is quite something."
