Valerie Bertinelli Drops Two F-Bombs on Live TV During Today Interview
Valerie Bertinelli Drops Two F-Bombs on Live TV

Valerie Bertinelli, 66, accidentally cursed twice on live television during an appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Thursday. The actress, who released a memoir earlier this year, was promoting her new Lifetime movie Love, Again when the verbal gaffes occurred.

First Slip-Up

The first incident happened as Bertinelli discussed her character Caroline, a caregiver for her husband suffering from Alzheimer's. 'She's just trying to hold it together. I just identified with her wholeheartedly,' she said. 'Where I'm one of those people where no matter what I'm going through, I will put that happy face on so I don't bring my sh*t to other – sorry. Bring my stuff to other people.' The star promptly apologized, telling co-hosts Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones, 'I'm so terrible. I'm so sorry.'

Second Blunder

But it happened again as Bertinelli talked about dating, emphatically stating: 'I am so independent and I can do anything I want, so leave me the f*** alone.' Bush Hager counted, 'Oops, that's a second one!' as Bertinelli looked surprised by her own blunder. 'Geez Louise! I'll never be invited back again,' the media personality said. 'I'm sorry! God, what is wrong with me?'

Excuse and Apology

She explained, 'You know what, it's the 66-year-old disease where you just don't care what comes out of your mouth,' before stressing, 'I apologize to everybody out there. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.'

New Movie and Book

Love, Again premieres on May 9 and touches on resilience, grief, and finding love later in life. It marks Bertinelli's return to the small screen after over ten years. She last appeared in Hot in Cleveland from 2010-2015 alongside the late Betty White, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick.

On Thursday, she shared a journal excerpt on Instagram from filming the movie last year. 'This is the first time I have not regretted an all-nighter and instead welcomed it... The gorgeous sunrise and the bird song was the gift at the end of a challenging, yet productive, 14 hour day,' she wrote. 'This movie we're filming for @lifetimetv is so raw, beautiful and heartbreaking because @nanceysilvers wrote a miraculous script.'

Her book, Getting Naked: The Quiet Work of Becoming Perfectly Imperfect, was published on March 10. On release day, she joined Drew Barrymore in conversation at 92NY, where she opened up about her 'deformed' breasts after four surgeries in 2024. She quipped, 'My boobs suck, but I'm not dating, so it doesn't matter,' before Barrymore emphasized she's not dating 'yet.'
