'Utterly Unmissable' Film with Crown Star on ITVX

A film lauded as a "masterpiece" and "one of the greatest love stories" is now available to stream on ITVX. Set and shot in Yorkshire, God's Own Country follows a young sheep farmer named Johnny, played by Josh O'Connor, who portrayed Prince Charles in The Crown.

A Transformative Love Story

Johnny's world is transformed when he encounters migrant worker Gheorghe (Alec Secăreanu). Gheorghe is brought in to work on Johnny's family farm throughout the lambing season, and the two men find themselves attracted to one another, ultimately developing deep feelings in what the broadcaster described as "a powerful tale of love and redemption".

The film is poised to captivate new audiences after being added to the streaming service, having initially won fans upon its original release in 2017.

Someone else described it as "utterly unmissable" and "one of the finest British films of the current century", while others concurred it ranked among the "best" films they had ever watched.

On review site Rotten Tomatoes, one viewer declared: "A modern, dramatic masterpiece!" while another enthused: "Breathtakingly raw and emotionally charged journey that will leave you spellbound." "This film truly deserves its place," remarked one viewer. "I just finished watching it, and it's one of the best films I've ever seen. Anyone who says it doesn't deserve it must be crazy.
