Tyson Fury is preparing to step back into the ring this weekend for the first time since December 2024, facing Russian opponent Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 37-year-old boxer's return marks his fifth comeback from retirement, with a potential bout against Anthony Joshua in Dublin mooted for September.
The announcement has sparked concern among family members, with his father John saying boxing has destroyed their relationship "completely" and that Tyson is "past his best." His wife Paris admitted she would have preferred him to stay retired, suggesting he take up training or a new hobby, but added: "He still wants to do it. So I'm not going to deny him that dream." Younger brother Tommy echoed these fears, stating the whole family would have answered "no" to seeing him continue boxing.
The couple, who were raised in Irish Traveller communities and are devout Catholics, share seven children: Venezuela, 16, Prince John James, 14, Prince Tyson Fury II, nine, Valencia Amber, eight, Prince Adonis Amaziah, seven, Athena, four, and Prince Rico Paris Fury, two. The youngest, born in September 2023, is named in tribute to Tyson's late cousin Rico Burton.
Despite an estimated fortune of £130 million and a £1.7 million home, the Furys are determined to keep their children grounded. Tyson has said he does not want them "spoiled rotten by multi-millionaire parents," and they attend state schools rather than private education. He insists they learn the value of money, telling his Netflix show: "My kids don't go to private school... they just go to normal school, everyone does normal stuff."

Paris and Tyson mark birthdays with boxes of Heroes chocolates, and Tyson previously said: "We don't live like rich people."
