US President Donald Trump has sparked fresh speculation around his health after a recent TV appearance began circulating on social media. Viewers all said the same thing after news outlets shared footage of Trump disembarking Air Force One at the weekend.
Footage of the president showed him repeatedly slapping his leg while walking down the stairs of the plane, which has caused concern. The clip circulated on social media over the weekend, days after Trump, 80, was pictured with heavy bruising on his forearm at the LIV Golf New York tournament at his Trump National Bedminster course in New Jersey, the Daily Beast reports.
Social media reacts
A social media user quizzed: "Does anyone know why Donald Trump slaps his leg so much every time he walks down a flight of stairs?" In a follow-up post, they wrote, "Omg... watch the way Trump just stepped off Marine One. Users all over social media are wondering why it looks so difficult for him to lift his left foot."
Several social media commentators reacted to the clip, claiming he looked as though he was struggling to get down the stairs.
"It's a physical therapy technique," one person wrote. Another remarked, "Some wild comments! He's unwell."
A third mused: "Not good... something's up." A fourth commented: "His limbs are getting numb!"
Another suggested: "He's been doing it for a year or two. The internet just noticed this weekend."
A sixth penned: "He maybe checking for numbness. Like he is waking it up. It is not something a healthy person needs to do." Another mused: "Looks like numbness in his hands I've seen him doing this before."
White House denies issues
Trump and the White House have always denied he is suffering from any health issues. After marks appeared on his left hand, Trump instead pointed to his daily aspirin, which thins the blood, and the chronic venous insufficiency he was diagnosed with in July 2025.
In a statement, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said Trump was "the sharpest, most accessible, and energetic president in American history."
