ITV has confirmed that Trigger Point will return for its fourth series on Sunday, August 30 at 9pm on ITV1. Vicky McClure will reprise her role as bomb disposal expert Lana Washington.
McClure Excited for New Season
McClure expressed enthusiasm about returning to the drama. "I love working with the team, we have a great time making the show and I cannot wait to continue Lana's journey on Trigger Point," she said.
The new series follows Lana and her team as they face a fresh threat in London, described as an "unprecedented" crisis. The scale of the danger is said to be larger than anything Lana has encountered before.
Cast and New Faces
Returning cast members include Eric Shango as Danny, Nabil Elouahabi as Hass, Natalie Simpson as DS Helen Morgan, and Maanuv Thiara as DCI Batra. New additions to the cast include Graham as Commander Quentin and Jonas Armstrong.
An explosive trailer released earlier this month shows Lana facing a terrifying new situation. She asks whether this is "the last one" and admits "these bombers know how we work." Julie Graham's character, Commander Nia Quentin, warns it could be "the biggest terror attack this country's seen." Jonas Armstrong's character says: "Whatever happens here today, will make things better."
Behind the Scenes
The six-part thriller is written by Chris Brandon, with Jennie Darnell and Nirpal Bhogal directing. McClure serves as executive producer alongside Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio. Her role as executive producer has allowed her to play an increasingly important part in shaping the series.
ITV Director of Drama Polly Hill said she was "delighted" the series was returning for a fourth run, promising another tense ride for viewers. She added that audiences would once again be "on the edge of their seat" as Lana and her colleagues work to protect the capital.
Seasons 1-3 of Trigger Point are streaming now on ITVX. Season 4 begins on ITV on Sunday, 30 August at 9pm.
