Radio 2 DJ Trevor Nelson has revealed he has been battling a brain tumour after undergoing 'very serious' surgery. The presenter took some time off work recently due to an undisclosed health condition and has now spoken for the first time about his diagnosis.
Diagnosis and Surgery
Nelson said: “There’s been a lot of speculation as to what’s wrong with me, I know that much. My phone’s blown up 20 times over with people asking what’s wrong with me. I was minding my own business and then it was discovered I had a brain tumour.”
“As you can imagine, I was shocked. In fact, my world was turned upside down. Quite literally, my head was all over the place. I knew I had to stop work because I couldn’t be that guy on the radio knowing I had that going on,” he added.
Impact on Work
Nelson’s health condition led him to take a break from his radio duties. The DJ has now returned to public discussion after his surgery, which he described as 'very serious'.
