Travis Kelce has broken his silence on marrying Taylor Swift, describing their star-studded New York wedding as “the best night of my life.” The NFL player and the pop superstar, both 36, tied the knot at Madison Square Garden on July 3.
A Star-Studded Ceremony
Over 1,000 guests attended the event, with neither Taylor nor Travis sharing any snaps or details from their big day. In spite of this, many stars have since posted photos on social media from the night. Officiating the wedding was comedy legend Adam Sandler, known for his work in Grown Ups, Uncut Gems and Billy Madison. Travis made a memorable cameo in Adam’s Happy Gilmore Netflix legacy sequel last year.
Guests from the big day included Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Kravitz, Hugh Grant and Graham Norton. Irish TV presenter Graham landed an invite after striking up a friendship with Taylor on his BBC talk show. Other notable guests included Camila Cabello, Jason Sudeikis, Jimmy Fallon, Tom Brady, Chris Rock, Jessica Alba, Steven Spielberg, Eric Stonestreet, Stephen Colbert, Sombr, Kelsea Ballerini, Benson Boone, Tommy Hilfiger and Miranda Lambert.
Romance and Engagement
Following the ceremony, a billboard outside the venue read ‘JUST&T MARRIED’. The famous sports venue is normally used for sporting events such as boxing and basketball matches. Taylor and Travis’ romance began in 2023 after he publicly announced on his podcast that he was interested in her. Taylor later said that her future husband’s comments were a ‘wild, romantic gesture’. The happy couple announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post in August 2026, which read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Travis Speaks Out
Six weeks on from their big day, Travis has now broken his silence on their recent nuptials. Following a practice session with his team the Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL star addressed tying the knot. Speaking to reporters, he said: “It was a fun off-season, man. Wedding was the best night of my life and I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us.”
Travis went on to call it a ‘crazy night’ that was ‘full of a lot of celebration’. He noted that it had been his ‘childhood dream’ to go to Madison Square Garden. “I always told myself I’d go for a play-off game when the [New York] Knicks were rocking. My wife went when I was stuck in training camp. I didn’t get my opportunity to go then. So, it’s kind of cool to be able to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue … the mecca of all sports venues,” he said.
Travis continued: “To be able to get married in there … I can’t thank the owners of MSG enough for letting us get the opportunity to do that knowing that we wanted a private event and everything, it was perfect. The AC was cooking … that was the best part.”
