Jordan Brook, star of The Only Way Is Essex, has been hospitalised for ten days with swelling on the brain. The reality TV personality, who is expecting a child with girlfriend Sophie Kasaei, described it as the 'hardest battle' he has ever fought.
In a social media update, Brook wrote: 'Day 10 in hospital. Hardest battle I've ever fought. Family is everything. Praying and hoping. Meds up. Brain is showing continued issues, swelling and pain.' He confirmed that tests have revealed 'confirmed inflammation and swelling of the brain'.
Sophie Kasaei, who is pregnant, has been unable to visit due to the risk to her and the baby. She said: 'It's been a tough two weeks for our family. Seeing Jordan so poorly has been hard but he is getting there and will get better.' She added that they are waiting for answers and that Brook is mostly sleeping due to pain.
Brook underwent a procedure and is awaiting results. He described the experience as 'really scary' and said it 'reassures you we are all human'. He hopes to rest and return home soon, though that 'seems a long way off'.
